Knitting looms are different from a knitting machine. A knitting loom can easily be used by a child. They are more for a table top or lap style weaving.

 

The newer long scarves turn out quiet nice on a knitting loom such as pictured. They also make pretty nice afghans by making blocks and sewing them together. If you are creative you will most likely come up with many different ideas with the knitting loom.

 

Most of the looms do come with complete instructions and patterns for projects.
